Taking back his hand from her grasp as soon as possible, Sam only rolled his eyes at the "apology" and scowled in irritation. His anger was beginning to dull slightly-- while not extinguishing. He could tell that being pissed off at this girl would be pointless, though he still had damn good reason to be pissed; rebuking or arguing with her would have no effect. And Sam did not have patience to waste time on fruitless endeavors.
"I've heard better," was his review of the "free verse poem".
When she asked him what he wanted out of life, he said simply, "Nothing that you can offer me. I won't say anything, though." Snitching really wasn't his thing (that apathy of his again) and all he wanted to do right now was go back to his dorm room and shower. Midge's mention of things illegal made him briefly wonder if he should mention something, but considering it further he didn't really believe that she was capable of dealing in any serious contraband. She seemed like the kind of person who was actually fairly harmless: more patter than action.
"Don't let her corrupt you too much," Norton said breezily to Melissa. It served as a sort of farewell as his next action was to exit the library and point himself towards the dorms, walking somewhat faster than he was wont to do and grimacing uncomfortably as he walked.
Hey-- on the bright side, he was free to blow off the rest of the tour now, what with everyone scattered. That didn't really off-set the fact that now he really needed to rush home to get the crap out of his hair and off the back of his neck. And his shirt was going to need to go in the laundry. Ugh.
