I found this idea on an RP site I used to be on (see credits sidebar), and I think it's totally brilliant, and very simple.

All you do is you post ideas for open threads, and they can be anything (although do try to keep it tasteful - raunchy is fun, but exercise some control please and thanks). This should help us get some ideas going and help people get into the groove. Plus, it should help your creativity too! :]

For an example, I'll start! (You may list your ideas however you like. Use as many or as few words as you prefer and/or are necessary.)

- Your character is tripped by another character. Accidental or purposeful is up to you.
- Your character is taking dance lessons - type of dance and eccentricity of instructor are up to you.
- Your character is starving and is eating a lot at a restaurant. Seeing another character's food nearly untouched, they lean over and say, "You gonna eat that?" or something similar.
- Your character is playing make-believe. Whether this means they are pretending to be an airplane or if they are a superstar singer, this could mean disaster if they run into someone or start singing aloud. And the fun/chaos ensues.
- Your character must buy an embarrassing gift for their mother/father/sibling/significant other/opposite sex best friend and thus goes somewhere they never thought they would go. (Use your imagination for this one. ;]) And then they run into someone whilst holding the incriminating object. Embarrassment and cover stories commence. ;]

- Without a word of warning, your character's parents decide to pop in and visit your character's dorm room. Who exactly they find in there is up to you, but awkward small talk with your character's roommate is a must, and embarrassing childhood anecdotes can only be amusing.
