Breaking it down:
- Acquaintances are sort of a grey area for Micah. Usually people fit on the ally or foe side of his mind. With this group of people, Micah might acknowledge them with a simple head nod, but don’t expect him to sit at lunch with them or initiate conversation on his own. He won’t be outwardly violent unless he finally determines which side that person fits. This is usually his trial period to determine which side of the line that person is on, because in logic, there isn’t a grey area.
- Friendship is going to take much work. Micah doesn’t trust easily and will quickly push anyone away who tries to get close to him. When he pushes, it usually takes the form of mild violence, so don’t be alarmed if Micah starts physically pushing that person away. It’s going to take stubbornness, something in common (hobby, classes, food, etc) and a genuine heart from the other character to win Micah over. A real plus is if Micah witnesses an act of pure unselfishness, whether it is saving someone’s life or returning money to someone who dropped it. He will become less violent in time and slowly open up once trust is earned from him.
- Enemies are plentiful in Micah’s world and it's extremely easy to become one. His introverted personality can be a turn off to some people, especially those who are attention seekers, seeing him as “too good” to speak to anyone. Considering that Micah resorts to violence (he has come a long way in this area though,) many people could just see him as a quiet bully. If a bully exists in the high school, Micah seems like an easy target, since he’s incredibly book smart and doesn’t surround himself with people. So yes, don’t be afraid to take this position with Micah; he’s accustomed to not having people like him and fighting back.
- If there’s a romantic interest in Micah’s life, the hurdle of becoming a friend must be jumped. It’s going to take much effort to this point in his life but it is possible. (Micah’s not looking for romance at this time, so when it becomes available, I will write more.)
If there’s any need for clarification or questions, please don’t be afraid to ask. Thank you for taking the time to reading this and I look forward to role playing with you in the near future!
