Astrid Ella Caius is legally blind, but she doesn't see herself as someone who was dealt a bad hand at life More importantly, she is a lover, a fighter, and a judge. Astrid is a friend and an enemy. She has dreams like all other seniors her age. Mostly of being big in international relations or a judge in a court, since she thinks herself a good judge of character and conduct. She believes in justice for all and hates discrimination with a burning passion, having received her fair share growing up being blind.

Astrid's personality is always changing with whom she is, but a few details remain constant. Astrid is normally nice, while not overly so, kind, and a calm person. But once someone takes a cheap shot about her being blind, she goes off the wall. She does not ally herself with those who are fools, and will feel betrayed and deceived when someone goes behind her back. Usually enough for her to exact revenge on the wrong-doer. She holds long grudges.

Astrid can be quiet at times, usually thinking. She loves wide open places. She holds no patience for slackers. Astrid is sort of a health nut and athletic...for being a blind girl. She does run on treadmills and have an extensive workout routine. Though Astrid is blind, she only carries her cane when she absolutely has to, for she sees it as something handicaps have...and she is no handicap.

Astrid Ella Caius stands proudly at five foot seven inches, with a very lean, muscled build from four years of working out at the high school. She weighs in at 115 pounds, a good weight for her height. She has bright red hair that is natural from her mother, and grey, muddy eyes as a result of being born blind. There is a bit of color in them, if you look hard enough; a pale green is visible. She has pale skin.

Attire wise, Astrid usually wears comfortable clothes, but will not hesitate to dress up. Since she is living blind, Astrid came up with a way to label her clothes hangers so she knows what color they are. You can find her in workout attire too, since she strives to be healthy. Astrid loves all colors equally, but gold is her favorite, and she owns several gold colored clothing items.

hometown - (Lethbridge, Alberta (Canada) Then moved to Pallet)
Astrid Ella Caius was born in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada. She was born to two parents who loved her, but not each other. Carl Caius and Hallie Mikaelson. Astrid led a life of struggling with her blindness, her mother's back hand and the constant fighting between her parents. It wasn't a happy existence, especially with her mother's drinking. When her father eventually divorced Hallie, Astrid was seven and they moved to the town of Pallet Colorado, where Carl worked for the police force. The Canadian courts made sure Astrid would never get to talk to her mother for a long while.

Living in Pallet while being blind at the same time presented it's challenges, but luckily Astrid had a loving father who helped her memorize walkways and defend herself. Soon she became a regular at the park, and grew up knowing Pallet like the back of her hand. After all, no one bothered with a policeman's daughter.

School did provide challenges though for Astrid, and as a middle schooler she was falling behind due to lack of comprehension. Her father had to work overtime to pay for braille textbooks for Astrid, making it so she was alone a lot. Astrid did always come up with tings to do though. She listened to TV, radio, sang; anything to keep her busy. It was when she was home alone that she received a phone call, from her mother.

After the phone call, Astrid was confused. Apparently, her mother had sobered up, married a doctor and had two other kids. She said she had never forgotten her first daughter, and wanted to make it up to her. Making it up to her didn't include flying down to see her, but rather writing out a check that covered any expenses Astrid might have being blind.

Both Carl and Astrid were angry that Hallie wouldn't visit her first child, but, although reluctant, chose to use the money after Carl had to pull a couple all -nighters to pay for things. Astrid vowed that she would not contact her mother unless necessary, for how she betrayed them both.

Astrid entered into Pallet High School, nervous and scared as a freshman, but soon gathered her bearings. Like all places, she encountered those who belittled her, and gave them a thorough verbal abuse. She has grown to be a confidant, level headed senior, who has used the money from her mother to purchase all of the supplies she would need for high school, and set her father at ease. Her senior year, while she can't give tours, is spent working at a braille computer imputing data for new transfer students.

• Name: astrid means God, Ella means All. (Astrid -strid + Caius - a = Acius.)
  
  
  
• Schooling- though it was tough to find something Arceus would do, but also something that could be done blind, I did think that International relations worked because Arceus is said to have created the sinnoh region, if not the world. So Arceus needed to know about different cultures, and so does Astrid. Sociology is the study of society, which also ties into that culture deal.
  
  
• Personality (Used Bulbapedia for all of this)
  The fact that Astrid is a judge directly links to Arceus's signature move, Judgement. Personality ever changing links to the fact that Arceus's type changes when holding a plate, such as spooky plate. Bulbapedia says "While normally a kind, heroic and benevolent Pokémon, Arceus does not suffer fools gladly, and will attack in a violent rampage if betrayed or deceived. It also holds long grudges if angered." Astrid has these same personality traits, though humanized. (We don't want her attacking anyone.)
  She loves open spaces links to the fact that Arceus is depicted sometimes amongst the galaxies, which are open indeed.
  
  
• Appearance - there is not much that correlates here, but bulbapedia did say that Arceus normally had green eyes, so I incorporated pale green into her blind eyes. The fact that Astrid loves gold is for the fact that Arceus, while not holding any plates, is adorned with gold on its head and on the ring like structures surrounding its back. Arceus's fur is white, so Astrid was made pale to compensate.
  
  
• History- "Like all places, she encountered those who belittled her, and gave them a thorough verbal abuse. She has grown to be a confidant, level headed senior.." (-from history) This relates back to personality again. Arceus, at least from my gatherings, is levelheaded until someone angers it. Her mother is loosely based off of Ho-Oh, but mostly just for the name, Since Ho-Oh was also said to have created the universe.
  
  
• Other: Why I did the things I did.
  Gender?- I made Arceus a girl, not just because there are few girl characters on this site, but because it was unexpected. Also, I am a big fan of independant characters and I thought Arceus's bulbapedia personality would work well for a female character.
  
  Why is she blind? To give more strength to the personality (and to make it extremely fun to rp.) I thought that to give Arceus's behavior a little more 'oomph' and to give the character something to react to (to stress the revenge and unforgiving side or Arceus) I'd give her a real problem that some could see as a handicap; through the eyes of someone with a personality like Arceus's would see as an asset.
