Okay, who's bright idea was it to watch a play, you know, mandatory? She could think of three other things she could be doing besides this, like, well. She could be catching up on homework, even though it was the beginning of the year, or she could be IM-ing some random person off the internet, or even looking over her sibling. Yet, whatever, this was going to be over in a little bit anyways, was it not?
It should be, Kyu thought crossly, having her arms folded over her chest, eyes darting around at her surroundings somewhat intently. The stage in itself seemed quite decent, she had to give the committee that much, though by now, she could see bits of chipped-up paint by the platform. Tch, sloppy in some parts, but not others? Pathetic- and wait, why was she studying a stage, of all things out here?
Just now realizing that what she was doing was - well - stupid, she turned away stiffly, a small huff escaping her lips. Seriously, this wasn't going to be the best play in the world, and she knew that. So why was everyone going to be coming out to see this? Releasing the tangle that her arms were in, allowing them to hang just above her shirt. How she hated being so short, and a junior at that? Five feet wasn't going to cut it in the end, righ-
"yo, watch out!"
Whipping her head in the direction of the voice, she could only just see what was going on. Some kid, a sophomore at that, was just arriving, though he wasn't walking in. Instead, he was running, at her. Damn it..
Before she knew it, that guy rammed into her, though it was only the right side of her body that he hit. He didn't go down, though losing his balance did give her a bit of satisfaction, though she ended up on the floor. "why you little-
[/color]" she began, though now she noticed why he was in a hurry. He was one of the characters in the play. Ooh, that made sense. Placing her hands on the ground, she pushed herself back to her feet, almost losing balance again a few seconds after. Ah, she probably should sit down. Right? Scanning the rest of the crowd, searching for empty seats, she noted that there were three near the back- perfect. Taking a few tentative steps, making sure that she wouldn't fall again, she found herself travelling the rest of the way, than taking a seat near the end of the row. Hopefully no one's going to really talk to her.. She just wanted to get this done and over with, honestly. o o c * -; open for allll~ and if anyone wants to comment on that plunge, i won't be responsible for anything, mkay? 8DD word count -; 450 muse -; decenttt. “The person who is enthusiastic attains everything through hard work and efforts. He can subdue all his enemies. ” [/size][/i][/right]
“Isn’t this exciting? I can’t wait to see what theatre has done to make a musical out of Romeo and Juliet! I didn’t even know that you could make a musical out of a Shakespeare! What will they think of next?”
Melissa tried talking to the person standing in line to get in to the Auditorium, but they just grunted and pushed through the crowd to get away. She looked after them a little sadly. She had just been trying to make conversation! Ah well, there must be someone else she could talk to. And besides, she actually was excited to see the play. She might have other plans for her Fridays, but they couldn’t be much more fun than this. Romeo and Juliet as a musical! What would they think of next?
Most people seemed to think that it would be a waste of time or overly silly, but Mew was curious to see what they would do with it. Artistic interpretation and all that - it surely would not be a boring performance.
Once inside the theatre area, she gazed around for an open seat. She saw several of the cast members pushing their way anxiously through the crowd, trying to get back stage before the performance started. One of them even pushed over a girl! They were in such a hurry, Mew wondered if it was close to time for the play to start.
“Guess I ought to find a seat.” She mused aloud and stood on her tiptoes as she looked around. She spotted a few open seats in the back and moved toward them. There was a girl seated near the end, who looked a lot like the girl that had been pushed down by the members of the cast. Mew took the seat on the end of the row and smiled at the girl seated next to her.
“Hi! My name’s Melissa, but you can call me Mew! What’s your name?” Melissa smiled in a friendly way, only pausing for a moment before she asked, “Are you excited about the play? I can’t wait! I’m sure it’ll be just fantastic, with all the work they’ve been putting in! I do wonder why it’s mandatory, but I think I would have come anyway. I’m really curious to see what they did with a Shakespeare play as a musical.” She nodded in confirmation of her own words, barely noticing the expression on the other girl’s face.
Summary:
[/i] Melissa tries talking to a random person, but they flee at her enthusiasm at a mandated event. She is excited about the play, and is looking for a seat. She finds an open one next to a red-head [Kyu], and starts chatting her ear off as well. Comments:[/i] This oughta be good. xD [/blockquote]

Ugh. How hard was it to match a pair of boots to a sweater? Apparently, extremely difficult for someone as picky as Nick was. With another exasperated sigh, he kicked off his new boots and opted to slip on a pair of worn Converse.
He felt so odd wearing the flat shoes. As he glanced in the full length mirror he had hung on the back of his door, he blew his bangs out of his face. This would not do for the language major. A good four minutes passed as he changed from his usual outfit of skinny jeans and a tight T-shirt to a baggier one consisting of painter's jeans, a loose-fitting T-shirt, and a black and blue striped sweatshirt. Man, he felt so weird.
He glanced at his phone, only to realize that he was almost ten minutes late already. Without enough time to do his usual routine, Nick's hair was left unstraightened, allowing the natural curls to frame his face handsomely. He looked completely different than usual. He cursed in Japanese under his breath and he pulled his door open, slammed it shut, and raced down the stairs. No doubt that Iori had already taken her seat. There were probably very few seats left. He'd have to sit by a stranger.
Nick didn't see why this play was mandatory. If the staff wanted them to interact with others, then they should've shoved them all in the gym with no electronics and sectioned them off from all their friends. But with the play, that wasn't possible. Even if they were sitting next to strangers, they wouldn't talk with them - they couldn't. He slipped into the auditorium, taking note of the dimmed lights. He stealthily made his way to the front, searching the rows for an empty seat.
No, he didn't want to sit in the front, he'd block someone's view. Ah! Perfect! A seat at the very top. He slipped by a few people, muttering quiet apologies and 'excuse me's as he passed by them. As he sat down, he couldn't help but notice that the girl sitting next to him was oddly enthusiastic about the play. He did his best to tune her out. He just wanted to fall asleep and call it good. His legs were pulled up somewhat close to him, and he felt very cramped in the small area. He shifted slightly, accidently brushing shoulders with the younger girl beside him (Mew).
"Sorry," he murmured, finally settling in his seat and stuffing his hands in the pockets of his jacket. It was so odd to have excess fabric. His arms felt heavier as he moved, and it felt like his legs weighed a ton. He was never going to wear this outfit again. When he got out of there, he was going to burn it. Burn it to the ground! | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: FFF205] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: 000000] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: c627ff] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: A7F2EB] | | Letting my broken wings flap I'll show them everything disappearing One day, I'll meet my end Up until the final bell stops tolling |
