whoa, what just happened?!
"This dance really blows."
Brittany, dressed in a low-cut pirate costume, looked over at her boyfriend Kyle, who was dressed a traditional vampire - the kind that looked like Dracula, and not Edward Cullen. Their costumes couldn't disguise their bordom as they leaned against the walls of the gym, avoiding teachers and people that were having too much fun. Kyle snorted, but otherwise didn't respond to her, looking around with quick, subtle movements. It was clear he was the planner of the two. After a moment, he jerked his head to indicate for her to follow.
"That's why we're busting this place. Come on, let's go. Better get into place for the big finale."
They snuck out through a back door that the teachers were guarding less closely, and moved toward the back of the school, which was relatively close to the gym. A five minute walk brought them to a gated area that read, "Danger: High Voltage." Kyle pushed at one of the wooden slats, which rotated upwards.
"Ladies first." He snickered a little as Brittany crept through first, curisng angrily as her dress caught on the sharp splinters of the fence. He followed after her and closed the fence slat after them. There couldn't afford to be any disruptions. He moved over thea large blue-gray box, which had a silver box on the side. It was covered in glass, but the large lever and the words to the right of it that read "ON" and "OFF" were clearly visible. Ignoring yet another sign that read "Danger: High Voltage," Kyle smiled at Brittany.
"I'm cold," She whined. "Just hit the lights so we can go back in."
Kyle rolled his eyes. "I told you we'd get back in only once we hit the lights, so just get a grip, okay? Or if you like, we can stay here..." He finished suggestively, and she giggled loudly at his proposition even as she shook her head.
"But I'll still be cold. Let's just turn off the generator and get back inside. Lucas has to finish his part of the deal, too, doesn't he?" She asked and smiled broadly. "I can't wait to see how wasted they'll all be. The teachers! Can you even imagine?" She started laughing, a high pitched and mostly unpleasant sound, but Kyle laughed along.
"Yeah," He agreed. "It'll be pretty great. Now stand back."
Kyle inspected the glass box for a few moments, and then walked back to the fence and grabbed a baseball bat out of the shadows. Brittany frowned.
"When did that get there?"
Kyle snorted impatiently. "I put it there, sweetcheecks, when we were planning this. Jesus, you can be so dumb sometimes."
Without furthur ado, he swung the bat and smashed the glass with a forcible blow. Shards flew everywhere, and Brittany screamed as her arms flew over her head to protect her. Once the glass was out of the way, Kyle moved forward and grabbed the top of the lever, which was currently in the "ON" position. He grinned mischievously.
"Ready? Lights, camera..." He pulled the switch down and grunted, "Action!"
With a deep tone of electricity powering off, the generator was off. Pallet High School was in darkness in the middle of the night.
