personality
Optimistic, idealistic, friendly, generous.
In general, Flora has a cheerful and sunny disposition. It's not impossible to get her down, but she always tries to look on the bright side and she always maintains hope that things will get better with time. She also believes that everyone has good inside them, even if it's hidden deep down inside, and so she tries not to judge people too much before she gets to know them. She's quite idealistic and romantic, which, of course, also makes her very naive at times. She has difficulty picking up on certain kinds of jokes (i.e. dirty ones) and occasionally misses certain non-verbal cues that others notice more readily.
Flora is very friendly, pleasant, and polite. She likes to be helpful and feels uncomfortable around mean-spirited gossip. She can sometimes have difficulty being assertive. Luckily for her, considering her major, she does not suffer much from stage fright. When she is nervous, however, she tends to get jittery and hyper.
Though she is not very intellectually gifted, she's a fairly good student since she is interested in her studies and does her work neatly and on time.

appearance
Genetics gave Flora bright green eyes and skin that is naturally fair but shows signs of healthy sun-exposure. Her hair is blonde-brown, falling a few inches past the level of her collarbones. Usually she simply wears it loose, but she also enjoys decorating it with barrettes or flowers. She'll sometimes pull it back for convenience's sake. She's somewhat small, with a light build; she stands about 5'4' in flats and weighs a little less than 130 lbs. When not on the stage, Flora never wears make-up, and she rarely wears jewelry, but she enjoys wearing a variety of different clothes: one day just shorts and a T-shirt, the next day something more cute and layered, like skirts with tights. The most common colors in her wardrobe are bright colors like turquoises, pinks, greens, and yellows.

history
hometown - Pallet, Colorado
Flora was born April 16th, 1996, the middle child between two-years-older Rosalyn Summers and four-years-younger Cornelius Summers. As a child she was very happy and sociable, making friends easily. To get a general idea of her temperament and interests between the ages of three and nine, consider that her childhood answer to the question "what do you want to when you grow up?" flitted between zookeeper, gardener, ballerina, veterinarian, princess, botanist, and artist. From a young age she was very attracted to nature and enjoyed going for walks or picnics.
A defining moment in Flora's life came the summer between fifth and sixth grade, on a family vacation in California, when her mother took her to see her first ever professional live performance of a musical (a production of Wicked). She was entranced by the experience and fell in love with the idea of musical theatre. She resolved that she must absorb everything she could about musicals and, at the earliest possible time, she had to be in a play herself. That earliest possible occasion was a student production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, not a musical, but she tried out anyway, got a minor part, and so thoroughly enjoyed every moment of rehearsing and performing that she knew she had to do that again. When it came time for her to graduate from eighth grade, she asked to go to Pallet High School so that she could take part in their theatre program.

* Using the name "Flora" is obvious; the name "Summers" has the same "suh" sound that begins "Sunflora" and evokes images of sunlight and warmth. The meaning of "Lucinda" has to do with light.
* Her sister represents Roselia and her brother represents Sunkern; I gave her an older sibling because I thought she did not have the personality associated with an oldest child.
* She has blonde hair and green eyes because Sunflora is green and yellow.
* She likes bright colors because Sunflora's coloring is bright and sunflowers are associated with cheerful colors.
* She likes plants because Sunflora is a plant-based Pokemon.
* She has a happy, optimistic personality because according to Bulbapedia "Sunflora are constantly seen with a wide smile."
* Why does she like musicals and acting? Um... Rachel suggested it, and I got the idea out of nowhere that Flora would be a sap for musicals and for anything that is cute with a happy ending.
