personality
Atticus is quite the social butterfly. He's extremely friendly and doesn't quite fully understand all the different American traditions. Many might classify him as the stereotypical Brit when it comes to his adoration of tea, but that's when all the stereotypes fall through the floor. Despite what many may think, he's extremely expressive, sometimes over the top. When he's angry, he often breaks things, usually not very expensive things.. On the other hand, if he's angry at a particular someone, he will undoubtedly do something he will regret later such as breaking a framed photo or getting rid of something important to him.
Going back to the social butterfly part of him, he's usually seen with a group of close friends. While he doesn't often go to talk to new people, he usually doesn't have to as they flock to him more. He's easy to get along with and more than willing to offer a helping hand if necessary. Even with his friendly demeanor and happy-go-lucky personality, Atticus is extremely sensitive, which brings us back around to his emotions sometimes getting the better of him. After his bout of anger, it will often turn to sadness in which case he'll fall into a rut that takes him some time to pull himself out of.
Even though he's sensitive when it comes to just about everything else, he's surprisingly not quite as faint-hearted when it comes to short flings with others. He has had multiple trysts with multiple different guys, and the fact that he came from an all boys boarding school probably only added fuel to that fire. But just because he usually has short flings doesn't mean he's not capable of having a full on relationship. He tends to be less dominant overall and usually lets someone else come onto him first before he makes a move.
Fun fact: he calls people 'love' if they're a female and 'mate' if they're a male. He's also known for using quite a lot of British slang in his extremely british accent. However, he does not have the stereotypical feminine sort of 'lisp' in his voice. He has a terrible habit of taking little gadgets apart if they're broken and trying to figure out how they work.

appearance
Atticus is sort of the ideal Aryan. His eyes are aquamarine in color and his mocha brown hair has been dyed blonde. However, it has had time to grow out, so his roots are no longer blonde. He's an average height, reaching no higher than 5'9", even on his tippy-toes. While he usually will break stereotypes in various other ways, he's a rather stereotypical homosexual person in the sense that he does care about his appearance, but not overly so. He's usually seen dressed in rather casual clothes consisting of jeans or baggy pants with somewhat tight T-shirts. The jackets he wears vary, sometimes the heavier sweatshirts or the lighter sports jackets depending on the weather.
However, his signature article of clothing is a striped scarf. He's got various striped scarves, each one a different color to match his outfit. His face is rather defined, with little to no facial hair. His hair is naturally straight, but he blows it dry to keep sort of a wind-blown look. He doesn't really put much time into any other part of his appearance. He's almost always seen with a pair of headphones hanging from the collar of his shirt or with his cellphone in hand. He's got an athletic build despite his very sedentary lifestyle. He manages this by eating healthy and frequently walking far distances.

history
hometown - Bristol, Britain
Even from a young age, it was easy to tell where Atticus's interest lied. He was always tinkering with the various toys he had. He caught on surprisingly well to the electronic toys he got. However, also from a young age, it was easy to see that there was something wrong with him. At the age of five, young Atticus had been diagnosed with asthma. His parents took great care of him, doing just about anything they could or had to in order to help him live comfortably.
This affected him growing up, but never really made any more of an impact on him than it would anyone else. He was never really that coordinated to begin with so not being able to fully participate in PE class or running around on the soccer field wasn't too much of a hindrance to him. When he was in the first grade, his younger brother, Faron, was born. In third and fourth grade, he didn't mind sitting on the sidelines and working the scoreboards when they played basketball, nor did he much mind sitting out at recess and taking apart his calculator. Also in the fourth grade, his youngest sister, Mary, was born.
Over the years, his asthma began to get progressively worse, but the progress was so slow that it wasn't until much later down the road that it really began to affect him. For his sixth, seventh, and eighth year, he attended an all boys boarding school. It was here that Atticus really began to realize some other things about himself. The boarding school was different in the sense that it wasn't as kind as the other schools he used to go to. Even with his asthma, he was still required to run at least as much as he could. Changing around other guys became a common thing which further made his sexuality more prominent.
It was in the eighth grade that he had his first intimate encounter. It was at this time that he fully accepted his homosexuality. In the many years before, his homosexuality never seemed to show too much, as he was often preoccupied with his electronics, and he never really showed any of the 'signs'. However, he always felt as though he were a smidge different, so this tidbit of information didn't come as too much of a shock. Still, he has kept his family in the dark about it, which wasn't too hard since he stayed at the school.
After graduating from his boarding school, Atticus's health began deteriorating at a much faster pace. His parents took him in again to find out that the type of asthma he had was a type that was severely aggravated by cold, wet places such as Britain. With this information in mind, the family went home to begin their two month plan to figure out just what to do. No one in his family wanted to send him somewhere else on his own, as he was only going to be a freshman in high school. On the other hand, if he stayed, then his asthma would surely get worse and worse.
So, after two months of thinking and talking over it, the family finally decided that they would move to America - specifically Pallet, Colorado. The reason being that Colorado was known for its sunny, dry days. And so, a week before school would have started up in Britain, the family moved, obtaining citizenship in America and moving into a nice two-story home in Pallet. For his Freshman year, Atticus sort of slipped by without too much attention on himself. However, he did make a few close friends who he often hangs out with in his sophomore year.
The only exception to his 'bout of lonership was his freshman roommate, Brandon, whome he had quite a long lasting fling with. Albeit, they tried a relationship but it didn't really turn out. Nonetheless, the two stayed close friend, and behind closed door, friends with benefits.

- Since Ampharos is an electric pokemon, I gave him the major of 'electrical engineering'.
- Due to the black stripes around Ampharos's neck, I had Atticus wear stripped scarves to sort of mimic the idea. The grow-out in his hair is also reminiscent of the black strips Ampharos has on its ear-flap things.
- Atticus is from Britain and traveled across the sea in order to alleviate his illness. In the Gold and Silver games, the Ampharos in the lighthouse had a sickness that needed medicine from across the sea.
- Atticus's blonde hair color is reminiscent of Ampharos's yellow fur.
- Bulbapedia says that Ampharos is a peaceful pokemon often seen grazing in a field with its preevolutions. Atticus, being a social sort of person, is often seen with a group of people and is not one to openly instigate something.
- Bulbapedia also states that Ampharos's light is so bright, it can be seen from space. In the same way, Atticus can almost light up a room's mood simply because of his friendliness.
- Atticus's name has no special meaning. Instead, his first name begins with an A, just like Ampharos; his middle name begins with an H which is the middle letter of Ampharos's name (or close to it); and his last name begins with an S just as Ampharos's name ends with an S.
- Atticus is surprisingly good with electronic gadgets and gizmos. This is because Ampharos is an electric type.
- I decided to make him homosexual based on the fact that I, personally, see Ampharos as a male pokemon and, in the anime, its dubbed name was Sparkle. I'm probably going out on a limb here but the thought of a male Ampharos named Sparkle is the best thing I've got... >.>
