Murdoch MacGowan is a very calm, non judgemental kind of guy, he enjoys just listening to other people and genuinely cares about other peoples problems or worries. He is also very generous and will try as hard as he can to help you in any way he can. He does occasionaly have fits of bashfulness when it comes to getting his opinion across if he feels it may negatively affect his relationship with that person. His only outlets are the ocean, and directing, which he is fascinated by both.

Murdoch is about 6 feet tall with a runner's build, due to the fact that he frequently jogs for exercise. He is fair-skinned with chestnut color hair which he keeps in a short, shaggy style. when he's not jogging he dresses simply with a pair of dark blue jeans, a black polo shirt and a pair of black sneakers. He also has a gold chain that he always wears around his neck. He also has a black suit and red tie for any formal occasions, as well as a grey t-shirt and jogging pants for exercising.

hometown - Denver, Colorado

Murdoch was born and raised in Denver in a house with his mom, dad, aunt, and his grandfather, his grandpa being a Scottish immigrant from the 20's. When he was growing up he constantly listened to his grandfather's stories of Scotland, and as a result, he keeps a strong link to his Scottish roots. Being Scottish and having an accent didn't help him make friends when he was younger, as a matter of fact, he kept mostly to himself when he was younger. He had a drawing towards film from a young age, since he spent a lot of his childhood watching movies and was very intrigued in the behind the scenes work. He started to come out of his shell in 8th grade, and he made a few friends, all of which he went out of his way to keep them happy. Sadly, his grandfather passed away when he was a freshman. Unable to handle staying in their house anymore, his family moved and he transferred to Pallet.

The main connection I have for Squirtle and Murdoch is the shell symbolizing Murdoch's bashfulness and his reclusiveness, I also know that in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, one of the two traits for Squirtle is the Relaxed trait, which I find Murdoch as a very calm, relaxed guy, especially when he's directing. Also in the original Pokemon anime, Squirtle was a very kind and caring pokemon, be it all that he did for Ash and also the way he took care of the Squirtle Squad. As far as filmmaking goes, I believe this works because of the bashfulness of Squirtle and Murdoch, not wanting to be at the center of things, but still wanting to be involved, like someone filming and editing a film.

Murdoch leaned his forehead gently against the windshield as he whistled a Dean Martin song, his thoughts being in a moment of drift, truly not thinking of anything in particular. This moment of simplicity lasted a few minutes until his mother turned to him and said "Are you sure it's ok that we're moving? I mean, most kids would be upset about leaving all their friends and would argue at least a little..." his mother said, slightly worried about her son being so agreeable. Murdoch looked at his mother with a light smile, saying with his light Scottish accent showing "Don't worry Ma, I'm fine with this, I only had like three friends back in Denver. Besides, I think the whole setting of this place will be better for my films," Murdoch then pulled his video camera out, fiddling a little bit with the settings. "It's hard to make a "movie" by yourself," His father muttered while Murdoch's mom shot him a glare. Murdoch heard his dad's statement, but ignored him, he knew that he'd get his directing off the ground this year, no matter what his dad says. After a couple more minutes of silent driving, they finally made it to Murdoch's new school. After grabbing his bags, getting a hug and kiss from his mom and sharing an awkward handshake with his dad, his parents pulled away as Murdoch looked at the school. It was in this moment that Murdoch made an oath to himself, "This year's gonna be different, I'm going to make you proud Granddad," Murdoch then picked up his bags and headed towards the door.
