Study on the Swings (open to all)

[Midge Kirsten Dearivus]

Midge swung lazily on the porch swing, looking into the sherbet~swirl colored sunset and kicking out her legs. She closed her eyes and yawned for a moment, before opening them again and jotting a word or two on her pad. One of the resident cats stalked over and hopped upon the swing, rubbing her with its head in a far from desperate cry for attention. She rubbed its head distractedly, staring off into the clouds once more. Unhappy with not getting all of her love fixed upon him, the feline sat its tabby~striped rump upon her notepad and burrowed his fur in her face. Unable to breathe, Midge awoke from her daydream and coughed cat hair that had been stuck in her mouth. An acorn lightly smacked the top of her head and rolled onto his foot. The cat looked at her disdainfully, as if she had caused such a disrupt to his physical being, and sauntered off, probably looking for some type of other Freshman to give him a sardine. Midge sighed again, slowly drifting back into her sleepy world filled with lavender and giant bats (And not the essay she was supposed to be writing, due quite soon), when a tap upon her shoulder startled her awake.
