After all, he was here more than anywhere else in the school more often than not. In fact, once he even fell asleep in the class all night and didn't wake up until the next morning when his teacher walked in. But all was well. Nick loved his Japanese class so much that he practically lived there. But no, he was forced to live in the dorms just like any other student. Ah well.
"Ne, Tanaka-sensei," he said, opening the door. Very few people took the Japanese language as a summer class. Nick, though, devoted himself to the language. It wouldn't be much of a major if he didn't. He and his teacher were on good terms and the two of them were pretty close friends. Tanaka had been born and raised in Japan, so Nick looked up to him like an idol. Over the years, Tanaka had begun to favor Nick due to his dedication and willingness to learn.
The male teacher looked up and a gentle smile graced his features. He was in his late twenties, perhaps early thirties. "Oh hello, Nick-san. Have you come with a specific goal in mind or are you just here to kill time?" he asked pleasantly, setting his pen down. "Just to kill time," Nick shrugged, picking up a dry erase marker and beginning to write on the board. "Learning a new song?" the teacher questioned, his eyes following along as Nick wrote in Japanese on the board. "You've certainly gotten better since the school year ended. I can actually tell which characters are which," he chuckled. Nick gave an indignant huff before going back to his work.
There was a long pause between them as Nick continued to cover the entirety of the board with the lyrics he pulled from his memory. "Mmm... how melancholic," Tanaka murmured, still reading along. "It's a really good song. You should hear it sometime," Nick grinned before capping the pen and setting it down. Tanaka stood up, checking his watch. "I will, but it'll have to wait. Unfortunately, you've caught me right before a meeting that I must attend. I trust you'll keep watch of the classroom for me. Just turn out the lights when you leave, okay?" Tanaka walked towards the door and Nick gave a simple wave. "Sounds good," he replied, looking over his work.
He waited a few moments before poking his head out the door to check the hallways. It was empty. Perfect. He closed the door and pulled the speaker cord from the back of Tanaka's computer and plugged it into his iPod. He'd plug it back in later. Tanaka wouldn't mind. Within moments, he had a song going at a relatively high volume. It wasn't enough to cause a terrible distraction on a normal school day, but because the hall and classrooms were empty, it was easier to hear. Then, he began to sing, pouring his heart into the song just like he did any other time.
"Shizuka ni sora ni kaeru anata no sugata wo Namida ga kareru made zutto mitsumete ita Afureru kanashimi wa kesenai kizuato ni Wasure wa shinai to chikatta
Oreta tsubasa wo habatakase Subete wo keshite miseyou Itsu no hi ka owari wo mukaeru saigo no Kane ga nariyamu made "
This was truly his favorite song or at least, one of them. this was what he loved - belting out the lyrics and putting his all into it. It's what made him feel whole. However, he found himself too wrapped up in the music to notice that someone seemed to have heard him and the door opened. | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: FFF205] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: 000000] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: c627ff] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: A7F2EB] | | Letting my broken wings flap I'll show them everything disappearing One day, I'll meet my end Up until the final bell stops tolling |

Let's see, where is it, where is it? Tai thought to herself as she walked through the foreign language hallway. The woman she had asked said it was down the hallway and off to the left. She said the teacher's name would be on it. The only problem with that was that EVERYTHING was in some sort of language that she didn't recognize! Perhaps she had already passed the dang place for all she knew! It was starting to become frustrating. Earlier a man had passed her in the hallways, she had started to say something, but he seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. Even though she was a bit desperate by this point, she decided against asking him where the classroom she was looking for was. So when he passed her by, she ducked her head a tad.
Tai was trying to find the Japanese classroom. Why? Well she was hoping to find someone who could give her a few lessons. She wanted to be able to speak a little bit of Japanese to her Sensei whenever she started karate back of. It wasn't that she was trying to impress her teacher or anything (although she hadn't met the karate teacher in Pallet yet and if there had been a major in karate she would've known about it), but she just wanted to have that sort of skill on her.
There didn't seem to be anyone in any of the classrooms! However, something saved her. The sound of someone's voice singing in . . . . well something foreign drifted out of one of the classrooms. At first Tai jumped upon hearing it. Of course once it registered in her head that either someone was playing music or singing, she walked towards the source. Maybe they could help her or point her in the right direction.
When Tai came to the door she knocked first, but nobody answered her. She pushed the door open and stepped inside on her toes, per usual. There was a boy writing . . . . something on the board. He didn't seem to notice that she had entered the room. In fact he was the one singing and he continued to sing even after she had entered the classroom. Of course he was singing much too loudly for her to get a word in, so she made her way to the board the boy was writing at and tapped him on the shoulder and then backed up a step so she wouldn't be invading his personal space.
"Excuse me? I'm looking for the Japanese classroom, could you point me in the right direction?" Tai asked, offering him a smile and hoping that he had heard her. However if he hadn't she wouldn't mind repeating herself. Even though she was a bit aggitated she couldn't act that way towards someone who could possibly help her. And this time there was no way she was going to let this one get out of her hands, even if he had looked a little busy. . . . Oh no! What if he was busy and became angry with people quickly?

He clenched his fists as he kept up with the song, throwing more power into the words as the music grew louder. Oh, he could picture it!
He was up on stage, singing a song of his own. There would be a sea of people dancing along to the beat of his music and cheering for him. All around, there would be cameras filming, zooming in close to his face and relaying it to a large screen behind him. As the song would end, the final crescendo would resonate through the crowd, followed up my cheering and applause. Oh it was a wondrous sight.
However, the real world whipped back to him as he felt a tap on his shoulder just as he inhaled for the next chorus. He opened his eyes and missed the cue in the song as he turned to look at who had interrupted his daydreaming. Upon finding that it was another student, he turned the volume way down to the point where the instrumental was little more than background music. Had he been a shy person, he would've been embarrassed about someone hearing him sing.
"Um, what?" he asked, looking more than a little confused. However, it wasn't that he hadn't heard the girl. In fact, he had somehow over the music. But the fact that she was asking where the Japanese classroom was... when she was very obviously in it. How many foreign languages were there in this school? Like... six or seven, if he remembered correctly. And how many of those languages looked even remotely like Asian characters? Two. Chinese and Japanese.
Between those two, Nick wasn't sure how anyone could mix the two Asian languages up. Then again... perhaps to the untrained eye, Chinese could look like Japanese... but he didn't see it. Unless, of course, ah nevermind. "Uh, you're standing in it," he stated simply, curious if she had taken a summer class. Then again, if she was taking a summer class, she certainly wouldn't be in his class. He knew everyone who was majoring in Japanese. And he certainly was sure he was the top student in there, all vanity intended. "May I ask why you're looking for it?" he questioned. | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: FFF205] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: 000000] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: c627ff] | [atrb=style, width: 3px; background-color: A7F2EB] | | Letting my broken wings flap I'll show them everything disappearing One day, I'll meet my end Up until the final bell stops tolling |

Rosy red rushed to Tai's cheeks when she learned she was standing in the Japanese classroom. Sure she had seen a few of the Japanese symbols before in her dojo, but definitely not enough to recognize the difference between it or any other asian language. Trying to brush off her slight embarrassment, she adjusted her ponytail with one hand and looked away from him. She felt quite stupid with the look he was giving her. If she was a violent type of girl she might've punched the look off his face. Afterall, not everyone knew the difference between Chinese and Japanese.
For a moment, Tai stared at the blonde haired boy and couldn't help but think of him as a bit rude. She was trying to get some information out of him and he kept his headphones in. While, yes, she knew that some kids could do that with their music still on, she found it beyond rude. Not only that, but the way he spoke to her gave her a bit of a cold feeling. However, she refused to let herself judge him off of just their first meeting. Afterall she would end up seeing him again more than likely and would need to be civil.
"Well I was hoping to get a few lessons because I train Shotokan Karate and I just wanted the skill to understand a little bit since I'm transferring to a new dojo. . ." Tai said as her eyes returned to the kid who'd been singing and writing on the board. She would've loved to take Japanese as a minor, but since she was only a sophmore she didn't have the ability to do so yet. Next year she would take on both dance and Japanese. Until then it would just be dance though.
"Do you know where the teacher is? Or anyone who could help me?" Tai chuckled a bit as she let a smile creep out. If she was friendly she was sure it would be returned to her. Perhaps he would even help her. It would be nice to have a fellow student teach her. They would also be easier to access than a teacher.
