OTMs - Yay or Nay?

Hey guys!

So I've been seeing less participation in OTM nominating and voting. I understand that these things can be hard, and I've been hearing around my RPG forums (RPG-Directory, mostly) that OTMs are not a popular option. They can be seen as supporting favoritism, cliques, and other bad things. I also know it can be hard to nominate people to earn these awards.

So, my question for you the members is this: Should we keep them, or do we want them to go?

I would like to also offer a modified version - a Spotlight OTM. I have found a code that would allow for a small space to highlight one character at a time. It changes on a regular interval (every click or every couple of clicks) to highlight a character, any character at all.

So when you vote, you have four options: Yes, No, Modified, or Other. If you like the idea of my modified version (I could find the code, and I'm sure Todoku would help me fix it up), then we'll add that in the OTM box. If you have your own idea, awesome! Feel free to post it here for the staff's consideration. :]
