personality
Raffy is bipolar. She's had this disorder for ages now and is very worried about other people getting near her whenever she flips. That was the original reason she took Aikido, to master her problems with Asian martial arts athletics. Now she is almost a master at it, gaining a good powerful right with the world whenever she fights. She also gained an enormous amount of self control because of her martial arts, which allows people to not have to know of her disability. She is a psychology major because it it her natural talent and because she has a natural empathy for others, sensing their feelings even when she snaps. She's a loyal, kind, rather soft, free spirited girl with a love for the colors yellow and brown and a natural affinity to the sun.
Jill is not extremely creative. She just doesn't really know how to let her ideas flow like others. She does really know how to appreciate art, though, in a more technical way. She's smart and bright, but not artistic. The girl is rather plain, but she knows how to stick up for herself and others. Her previous school nominated her as the Best Role Model of her grade because she obeyed rules and helped others do so. The Kindergarteners Raffy used to babysit called her a superhero because she acted so. It always made her feel really helpful, and she loved doing it. She hates her first name, because she thinks it makes her sound plain and conservative, but she realizes this is slightly how she acts.
She is extremely caring for anything, even fungi (Though she has no idea how to care for bacteria and honestly doesn't want to learn). The girl brought a plague~carrying mouse back to life after her mother had swatted it due to her fear of rodents. And yes, it DID carry the plague because she got sick for five months afterward. And no, she HADN'T gotten her shots yet. Sadly enough, she was going to get them on the very day when the mouse bit her. Animals of less intelligence really don't have much mercy, do they?

appearance
Raffy is a very tall, long necked girl with deeply tanned skin, dyed-white creamy hair with yellow highlights hung in two pigtails high on her head that she bunches into little balls at the ends and bright blue eyes. She has a rather large nose that's nicely rounded and pink as if she's been blushing a lot. She wears a yellow shirt with brown spots on it, stiff pink triangles sewn onto the back and sleeves that reach just past her fingertips. The ends of each sleeve are black, so that they look almost like hooves. Her pants are brown with a large yellow spot high on each of her thighs, near her hips and a big tail attached to them. The tail is something she found at a costume store a few years ago, it's zigzagged and has a big black puffball on the end of it with a big sharp smile and a very hungry look to it. She saw it and decided that it reflected her bipolar problem very well, latching it to her pants at all times after that. People gave her odd looks for wearing it in public, but she was oblivious.

history
hometown - Seattle, one of the best cities I know!
Raffy has had, though she hates the cliche of it, a bit of a misunderstood childhood. Her mother used to be a pot~dealing hippy in her youth, leaving her be riddled with dozens of health problems. Raffy always thanked her lucky stars she didn't turn out brain dead and without limbs. Her mother therefore never really understood her lack of desires to do something radical and amazing with her life. Her Mum was always telling her how she used to tie herself to police cars and steal animals that were about to be used for cosmetics purposes in a vain attempt to get her only child to be a trouble maker. Jill just never really wanted to do that with her life. True, she was a real believer in a lot of the things her mother stood up for like green energy, saving the endangered species and world peace, but she wanted to express such ideals in as harmless a way possible. Unless she was in a wrathful mood and another person was disobeying the rules for the wrong purposes.
She really admired her mother, in most ways. The poor woman had been left pregnant, broke and drugged on the side of the street by her father, who was (grossly enough) Ms. Riggins' illegitimate cousin. He left the US shortly after. At that moment she realized that this was the youngest she'd ever be again, so she picked herself up and got a steady job and apartment when Jill was a month in the womb. She now wrote the opinion column in multiple newspapers, despite her relying on machines to breathe much of the time.
She got into the school on Scholarship in her Sophmore year for her straight As and "Leadership roles in the community nearby". She was ECSTATIC and brought all of her friends from her old private school that she'd been kicked out of due to her mother not being able to pay at the time. Most of the kids at Richman Walters Junior High School Preparatory were unhappy that a poor girl who lived in an apartment with no father was to socialize with them, but a select few like Natalie "Nettles" Rodney and Lizzy~beth Louise were happy to find such a... charming sort to hang around with. They'd teach her how to do the important things in life, like learning how to NOT help any stray animal or person on the side of the road! (Because people aren't animals, ew! That would mean that humans were no better than seals and we should treat them as such!) Raffy was a quick learner and knew well how to fake her manners whenever in their presence and how to let herself loose whenever talking to her pets. She had four of them, two of which her mother was unaware of. Those two were a garden snake (Tabby-Beth) and a rat (Stilton), both of which her mother had phobias of. The ones she knew were Lima and Bean, a pair of twin rabbits from the same litter. They were extremely healthy, being the only two their mothers birthed at the time, but were about to be killed for their pelts (prematurely, who DOES that?) when the Rigginses came to the rescue! They had floppy brown ears and chestnut splotches all over their white fuzzy bodies, with one splotch on their eyes. Freakishly enough, when put right next to each other in a certain pose, they were symmetrical. The two tried to send a picture in to a pet calendar for the month of July, but lost.
Anyway, not to ramble, Jill was kicked out of private school in fourth grade, where she was then sent to Montgomery Public Elementary. She was not very used to cliques and the types that appear in public schools, and she felt like a tall, skinny tree in a valley of bushes. They at first tried to taunt and tease her, spreading rumors about her all over the school, but she would not respond. She would only respond when they did so to other children, and then she would become very angry and deal with them in a way that would satisfy her sudden craze. She was not feeling very happy with her appearance at this time, having to wear glasses and braces with her freckles all over her body and knobby knees and baby~fat cheeks which looked off on her tall, strong, skinny body. So she lay low for four whole years, not befriending anyone but the children she babysat, the teachers who liked her for her kind, quiet disposition and good grades, as well as her uncanny ability to keep her wrath inside of herself until she could rush into the bathroom to punch the walls, and the squirrels who nested where she ate her lunch. There were other children who were kind and quiet as she, but they did not speak to her because they (as aforementioned) were quiet and shy. A lot of them actually admired her for her long legs and good grades, for her kindness to all who came to her and unwillingness to deal with those who were not. It was these skills that allowed her later to become a very sociable girl in her freshman year.
Freshman year, she decided to turn over a new leaf and befriend people. She became a charming girl with five friends in her first week, ten in her second and a boyfriend in her third. This was what allowed her to win the scholarship to come to Pallet High!

I really couldn't find an enormous amount of information on the CHARACTER of girafarig, except for the tail-thing, (The rear head attacks in response to smells and sounds. Approaching this Pokémon from behind can cause the rear head to suddenly lash out and bite. While Girafarig sleeps, the head on its rear keeps watch, as it does not need to sleep. While Girafarig is eating, its tail makes chewing and swallowing motions as if it were also eating. ~Bulbapedia) so I decided the tail could represent her bipolar identity for snapping at things without very much thought. I did find somewhere that Girafarig is a loyal, good, kind pokemon, so I added that in for good measure. Girafarig is normal and psychic, so I made Jill a Psychology major with a Kinesiology minor.
And, of course, her name sounds a lot like girafarig. And she looks like her too.
