What is the little karma thingy in the persons profile or side bar thingy mabobber? I know what karma is, but how does it work with the site?

Karma doesn't really do anything to effect the site or the character itself. Having karma or having no karma doesn't change anything, at least, to my knowledge.

Karma does not affect anything on the site. It's just a little way to show appreciation for a member, kind of like a "Like" on Facebook. But it's not a big deal at all - all forum softwares have a feature like it. :]
