People like Nick are rare to find. While many people may be just as ambitious as he is or just as outgoing as him, surely no one is as much of an enigma as he is. There are times when he's such a social butterfly that one would believe he knew everyone. But there are en equal number of times when he's off to himself doing his own sort of things.

However, Nick is still a personable kind of guy. He's friendly but at the same time, more than willing to speak his own mind and give his input. Nick’s got this funny little quirk about him. He always seems like he’s in a hurry or that he’s rushed. This, of course, isn’t true, as he usually has just about all the time in the world, at least in his opinion. He simply does things quickly. Of course, other people can also get quicker at their routines, but Nick takes it to a whole ‘nother level. For example, straightening his hair, which once took an hour, now only takes five to ten minutes depending on how lazy he’s deciding to be.

At times, he can be rather vain, but it's usually all in good fun. To the few that he's close to, he cherishes them dearly only they've really seen his true self. To them, he's much more considerate hen it comes to his opinions, but he'll still speak his mind - just using different words. Growing up surrounded by girls has influences his behavior a fair amount. His care for his appearance, choice of words, and even some of mannerisms and walk have become a tad-- no, quite feminine, though it's pretty confirmed that he's heterosexual. He loves girls way too much.

To put it bluntly, Nick can be quite the drama queen but only in jest. He tends to use the words ‘ridik’ (short for ridiculous), ‘fantastic’, ‘hilar’ (short for hilarious), and ‘totes _____’ (short for totally – mostly ‘ridik’ or ‘hilar’ for the blank).

Nick is model worthy. Measuring at a good 6’ 3” and weighing no more than 134 lbs, tends to be a good thing, especially for someone like him. His hair is a bright yellow color, due to bleaching. It’s originally a darker brown color. His eyes are also a light coffee brown but he hides them behind bright blue contacts. He cares a great deal about his looks, but not nearly as much as some girls he’s encountered.

Even with his clothes, he’s not shy. The colors he wears are often bright, ranging from crème to pink to reds. For him, tight clothes are no problem. On any normal day, he’ll simply slip into a pair of skinny jeans, pull on a simple, form fitting shirt, a second layer such as a sweater, and a pair of boots. His hair is naturally curly, so he spends a great deal of time each morning straightening it to perfection.

Nick has lived in Pallet, Colorado his whole life. He was born to two normal, loving parents and grew up as an only child. As such, he was often spoiled but not to the point of him becoming a total brat. There weren’t many kids in the neighborhood where he grew up, but the few that were there were all girls. So he grew up surrounded by girls from the very start.

Despite being a boy, he’d still play dress up with them, even going so far at one point as to put on a dress and high heels and go around singing and dancing. His parents didn’t think much of it, though. After all, he was only four, and the only friends around were girls, so it was understandable. It was when he was six that he first tried singing. It stuck and originally, that was his goal in life. He would sing along to songs in the car and on the radio. He’d memorize the lyrics and belt them out terribly off tune. But over time, he would learn.

Ages seven, eight, and nine were all relatively normal. Nick had slowly come to wear more boyish clothes – sneakers, sweatshirts, baggy jeans. The friends he grew up with were still his friends. Grade school was all fun and games. Then middle school hit. And things changed. Having grown up with girls, Nick was more comfortable chatting with them rather than to the guys. And in seventh and eighth grade, some of the other guys didn’t like that.

Nick had never been much of a charmer on purpose. There were a number of girls that liked him since he ‘wasn’t like all the other guys’ as they later put. And he knew that they liked him. But that didn’t change the way he treated them. He wasn’t interested in them. The only girl who really drew his attention was an Asian transfer student. Japanese, to be specific.

He would talk with her often, picking up on some of the Japanese words she used. She would tell him all about Japan. The places, the people, the food, everything. And he began to fall in love with the place, just from her descriptions. He spent less and less time with the girls he had grown up with, opting to hang out with the transfer student, Iori, more. And the girls weren’t happy about this.

The guys, believing that it was their chance to have a shot at the objects of their affections soon found that that was not so. The girls would come to them, yes, but all they would do was talk about Nick. There were multiple times when Nick would come home with bruises from the kids at school. At one point, he came home with a black eye. He began shying away from everyone except for Iori. She was his only saving grace. In eighth grade, the two dated and she became his only close friend.

As a graduation present from eighth grade, Nick’s parents sent him to Japan for a week. There, he became completely intoxicated by the place. He loved it, entirely. Even with a translator by his side, he continued to further pick up on the language, learning snippets of just about everything. It was truly the best week of his life. And when he got back, that’s all he would talk about for days. In the summer before attending Pallet High, he switched to tighter, more form fitting clothes, claiming that he didn’t like the airy feeling.

Originally, he had planned on taking Vocal Performance as his major, but when he noticed Japanese on the list, it quickly switched. He had a new goal in mind – to become a famous singer in Japan. Even if it killed him. During the summer after his first year at Pallet High, he went back to Japan after saving for the whole school year. He stayed for a month, living and breathing Japan. During that time, he and Iori slowly drifted apart and their relationship just ended. Though they vowed to still be friends.

After his second year at Pallet High, he went back again, this time beginning to make some friends there since he could then speak the language much better. During his third year, he had planned on becoming a foreign exchange student in Japan, but his parents wouldn't allow that. Instead, he stuck around, only this time, he didn't go back during the summer. That was the worst summer of his life. However, he planned on returning after finishing high school and moving onto bigger and better things.

• Alaric means 'He who rules' in German. Bulbapedia says that Raikou's name is derived from 'rai' which means thunder and 'ko' which means emperor. His middle name, Kaiser, means 'leader' also in German. His first name bears no significant resemblance to Raikou. I just can't imagine the play by with any other name >.>
  
  
• Nick's hair is a bright yellow, similar to Raikou's fur.
  
  
• Bulbapedia reads that Raikou was based on the thunder demon of Japanese lore. Nick majors in the Japanese language.
  
  
• As for his minor, it is said that Raikou's bark sounds like crashing thunder. Nick, as a singer, puts his whole heart into singing and, with a microphone, can be heard quite a ways away.
  
  
• Raikou is rather distrustful of humans, and Nick is also somewhat distrustful unless those around him wish to help.
  
  
• He's fiercely protective of those he perceives to be similar to him, like Raikou protects electric pokemon.
  
  
• Nick is a pretty tall guy and, being that he's thin, appears to have rather long arms and legs. Raikou is also tall and thin with long legs.
  
  
• Nick has an affinity for thunder and lightning storms and Raikou is known for thunder and lightning.
  
  
• Nick is an 'on the move' sort of person, often going from one place to another either in a big move or something as small as switching room from room. Raikou is a roaming pokemon.
  
  
• Nick's personality is partially based on Raikou's (ie. protecting those he believes are similar to him and being mistrustful of people) but the other part is fairly eccentric. I did this because Raikou is one of a kind and I thought Nick could be like that too.
  
  
• Raikou and Nick are both 6' 3" according to Bulbapedia.
